Ipoh City’s latest tourism product is the Petting Zoo at Gunung Lang Recreational Park which is part of the Lembah Kinta Geopark.
The new venue boasts some 800 animals from 25 species.
For city dwellers and their children, this offers the perfect opportunity to get close to nature and animals.
Ipoh Mayor, Datuk Rumaizi Baharin officiated the pre-launch recently.
He stated that the zoo was built at a cost of RM1 million on a 1.8 hectare site.
The operating hours are from 10am to 7pm daily. Guests can touch animals like sheep, ponies, iguanas, ostriches and chickens.
Tickets are priced at RM6 for adults and children aged two and above.
“This zoo provides opportunities for the locals and domestic tourists to get close to or play with the animals like rabbits, raccoons, porcupines, birds, snakes and other species,” said the mayor.
